With her extensive 2001- 2002 concert tour through the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan, Anoushka Shankar continues to bring a new energy and excitement to one of the noblest and most sublime legacies in the world of contemporary music. Anoushka is the first and only sitarist in the world trained completely by her father Ravi Shankar, who has guided Anoushka through her emergence as a performer and as a recording artist. Anoushka appears with her father on the Angel Records release of Ravi Shankar: Full Circle/Carnegie Hall 2000, a live recording which celebrates Ravi Shankar’s 19th performance at Carnegie Hall.
Anoushka: Live at Carnegie Hall is Anoushka's solo opening set from that memorable evening in October of 2000. As a bonus, the album also contains Raga Mishra Piloo, which was recorded live in Salisbury, England. Anoushka will continue to perfrom and tour with her father on his Farewell Tour, and she will also tour on her own.
