CROSSING TIDES , Heather Macleod's eagerly awaited debut solo album, will be launched with a concert at Celtic Connections in the on 27 January 2005 with special guest, the legendary Danny Thompson.

To date Heather is best known from her impressive and lauded vocals for with La Boum !, ' Wee Free ', Jim Condie's ' Distant Cousins ' and the Eliza Carthy whom with she appeared on Glastonbury Main Stage, as well as touring the UK, Europe and America. It's her own songs that are now grabbing attention and she has already opened this year for Cara Dillon, Eliza Carthy, Tam White, Bert Jansch and Paddy Casey. Her songwriting strongly reflects her Isle of Lewis background; there is a strong sense of poetry, visual textures and filmic quality have drawn comparisons to Alison Goldfrapp, Portishead and Annie Lennox.
